Applications are invited from suitably qualified personnel to fill in the position of Receptionist Cashier for Rainbow Tourism Group, and the successful candidate will be based in the Front Office Department at Victoria Falls Rainbow Hotel.
The position reports to Front Office Supervisor.
Responsibilities Include:
- Attending to guests and guest enquiries, interacting with guests and collecting guest feedback.
- Taking note of guests special needs and communicating accordingly
- Taking guest reservations, checking in and checking out guests and conducting cashiering functions.
- Maintaining guest accounts, updating guest profiles, transferring city ledger to accounts receivable and ensuring guest history accounts are kept current.
- Must be knowledgeable about the hotel`s emergency procedures
- Must be knowledgeable about keys to the city
- The candidate should have the following:
- Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management a must
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Hands-on experience with the Opera system.
- 1 year experience in a similar position.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Organizational commitment and dedication.
- Accuracy and attention to detail is a prerequisite

Introduction

The position reports to the Head Chef.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares a wide variety of pastries such as cakes, cookies, pies and bread
- Creates new and exciting desserts to renew existing menus and engage the interest of customers
- Maintains up to date knowledge about pastry arts and ingredients
- Able to develop, design, or create new ideas and items for Pastry Kitchen
- Decorates and presents pastries and baked goods in a tasteful and attractive way
- Monitors stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar and make appropriate orders within budget.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cost Management - Conduct detailed Cost of Sales analysis and maintain standard recipe costing for all menu items.
- Menu Engineering - Partner with the Head Chef to analyse menu performance to optimize profitability.
- Inventory Control - Oversee the monthly stock-take process, ensuring the security of all storerooms and cellars while managing slow-moving stock.
- Procurement Oversight - Validate supplier pricing and approve purchase orders to ensure alignment with monthly budgets and quality specifications.
- Operational Auditing - Monitor POS systems for unauthorized voids or discounts and conduct periodic spot checks and yield tests.
- Financial Reporting - Prepare comprehensive monthly F&B reports, variance analyses, stocks reports and forecasts for senior management.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Management.
- 2-3 years’ experience in a busy city property or FMCG
- Working knowledge of APEX, OPERA, ACCPAC, Micros POS and materials control systems
- Superior analytical and investigative skills.
