Introduction
Applications are invited from suitably qualified personnel to fill in the position of Pastry Chef. The successful candidate will be based at Montclair Resort and Conference
The position reports to the Head Chef.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares a wide variety of pastries such as cakes, cookies, pies and bread
- Creates new and exciting desserts to renew existing menus and engage the interest of customers
- Maintains up to date knowledge about pastry arts and ingredients
- Able to develop, design, or create new ideas and items for Pastry Kitchen
- Decorates and presents pastries and baked goods in a tasteful and attractive way
- Monitors stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar and make appropriate orders within budget.
- Ensures quality of baked products meets established standards
- Ensures compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety Standards.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- National Certificate in Professional Cookery.
- Have at least two years working experience in a similar role
- Strong character with high level of integrity
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Attention to detail
- Planning & organizing skills
- Well groomed
- Team work & cooperation
