Introduction

Applications are invited from suitably qualified personnel to fill in the position of Accountant

and the successful candidate will be based at Gateway Stream.

The position reports to the Gateway Stream General Manager.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Budget preparation and reviews.
• Cash flow management.
• Preparation and interpretation of financial accounts for management.
• Maintenance of asset register.
• Consolidation of audit files.
• Management of departmental associates’ performance through, inter-alia, coaching and continuous training.
• Implementation and monitoring of effective financial and internal controls within the business unit.
• Liaising with statutory bodies and managing statutory accounts effectively.
• Taking a leading role in the preparation of routine business, accounting and audit reviews.
• Facilitating periodic internal and external audits.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• First level Degree in Accounting/Finance from a recognized institution.
• Possession of a full professional qualification – ACCA/CIS or equivalent.
• Possession of an MBA/MBL or equivalent is an added advantage.
• Minimum of at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Working knowledge of Property Management and Accounting Systems e.g. OPERA and ACCPAC.
• Good planning and leadership skills.
• Demonstrable cost management skills.
• Should be a person of unquestionable integrity.
