Introduction
Applications are invited from suitably qualified personnel to fill in the position of Landscaping Supervisor and the successful candidate will be based at Rainbow Tower Hotel and ICC Harare.
Job Summary
The Landscaping Supervisor will be responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and maintenance of the hotel’s extensive landscaping and groundskeeping operations. The role will be instrumental in creating and preserving a visually stunning and environmentally sustainable outdoor environment that enhances the guest experience and contributes to the hotel’s reputation.
Reporting
The position reports to the RTG Group Estates Manager.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Supervision:
• Supervise a team of groundskeepers and horticultural staff.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training and development
• Maintain an engaged and disciplined team.
Landscaping Design & Maintenance:
• Oversee the daily maintenance of gardens, lawns, trees, shrubs, and other landscaping elements.
• Coordinate with the Estate Manager on seasonal planting and maintenance schedules.
• Ensure that all landscaping is maintained in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
• Come up with landscaping features that improve the general aesthetics of the property.
Pest Control:
• Monitor for pests and diseases and implement effective control measures.
• Coordinate with pest control companies as needed.
Irrigation Systems Management:
• Ensure the proper functioning of water sprinkler systems around the property.
• Installation of desirable water features like fountains at the hotel both outside and inside
Outdoor Amenities Maintenance:
• Maintain outdoor amenities such as balconies, walkways, and outdoor furniture.
• Coordinate repairs and replacements as needed.
Budget Management:
• Assist the Estate Manager in developing and managing the landscaping budget.
• Monitor expenses
Guest Satisfaction:
• Ensure that the landscaped areas contribute to a positive guest experience.
Person Specification & Attributes
Relevant Diploma in Horticultural and Landscaping studies
Minimum of 3 years of experience in landscaping or a related field.
Strong knowledge of plant species, gardening techniques, and landscape design principles.
Experience supervising and managing teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical fitness to perform outdoor tasks.
