HEAD CHEF – PASTRY
Introduction
Applications are invited from suitably qualified personnel to fill in the position of Head Chef – Pastry and the successful candidate will be based at The Rainbow Towers Hotel & ICC.
The position reports to the Executive Chef.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participating in preparation of kitchen budgets
• Menu Development – Create innovative and visually appealing dessert menus that align with the hotel’s culinary vision.
• Quality Assurance -Maintain the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation for all pastry items.
• Supervising kitchen associates and conducting kitchen inspections
• Training of kitchen associates
• Managing Pastry kitchen costs through use of innovative food preparation methods
• Administration of health and safety standards and practices in the kitchen
PERSON SPECIFICATION AND ATTRIBUTES
• Higher National Diploma in Professional Cookery
• At least 3 years’ hands on experience in a similar position
• Good flair of financial figures
• Excellent coordination skills
• Should be excellently groomed
• Should have a fair understanding and appreciation of other sections of the kictchen
