LANDSCAPE SUPERVISOR
Applications are invited from suitably qualified personnel to fill the position of Landscape Supervisor for Rainbow Tourism Group, and the successful candidates will be based in the Repairs & Maintenance Department at Rainbow Towers Hotel.
The position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities Include:
- Supervise and coordinate daily landscaping, gardening and grounds-maintenance activities.
- Plan and monitor lawn mowing, edging, pruning, trimming, planting, watering and general garden maintenance.
- Ensure gardens, lawns, flower beds, trees, walkways and other external areas are consistently neat, attractive and well maintained.
- Develop and maintain seasonal planting and landscaping programmes.
- Supervise the use and maintenance of gardening tools, machinery and equipment.
- Monitor irrigation systems and ensure efficient use of water.
- Identify and address plant diseases, pests, weeds and other conditions affecting landscaping.
- Maintain proper records of landscaping activities, materials, equipment and maintenance requirements.
- Control the use and storage of fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and other landscaping materials in accordance with safety requirements.
- Supervise landscaping staff, allocate duties and monitor attendance, productivity and performance.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of external areas, including removal of leaves, branches, litter and other debris.
- Assist in planning landscaping projects, renovations and improvements to hotel grounds.
- Ensure compliance with the hotel’s Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
Job Specifications
The candidate should have the following:
- A Diploma in Horticulture, Landscaping, Agriculture and Gardens Management or a related field.
- At least 3 years’ relevant experience in landscaping, horticulture, gardening or grounds maintenance, preferably in a hotel, resort, commercial property or institutional environment.
- Proven supervisory experience will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, lawn care, pruning, planting and general horticultural practices.
