The successful candidate will be based at <strong>Montclair Resort and Conference<\/strong> within the Maintenance Department.<\/p>\n<p>The position reports to the <strong>Estates Manager<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and implement strategies for the maintenance and enhancement of the hotel&#8217;s gardens, landscapes, and grounds to ensure an attractive and welcoming environment for guests.<\/li>\n<li>Plan, manage, and supervise all horticultural and agronomic activities, including flower gardens, lawns, ornamental plants, trees, and landscaped areas.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the hotel&#8217;s crop production fields, ensuring the efficient cultivation of vegetables, fruits, herbs, and other produce required to support hotel operations.<\/li>\n<li>Establish and oversee nursery operations, including propagation, seedling production, plant care, and replenishment of ornamental and crop plants.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and implement seasonal planting programmes and crop calendars.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor soil health, irrigation systems, fertilisation schedules, and implement sustainable agricultural and horticultural practices.<\/li>\n<li>Identify, prevent, and control pests, diseases, and weeds affecting gardens, nursery stock, and crop fields.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure proper utilisation and maintenance of gardening and agricultural equipment and machinery.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement landscape improvement initiatives to enhance the aesthetic appeal and environmental sustainability of the resort.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise and train gardening and grounds staff, identifying skills gaps and recommending appropriate training interventions.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare budgets, work plans, and periodic reports relating to horticultural and agricultural activities.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards in all gardening and farming operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Specifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The ideal candidate should possess the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Diploma or Degree in Agriculture,or an equivalent qualification.<\/li>\n<li>At least 2 years\u2019 relevant experience.<\/li>\n<li>Fluent in written and spoken English.<\/li>\n<li>Good business acumen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Applications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All applications, accompanied by a detailed Curriculum Vitae and certified copies of academic and professional qualifications, should be submitted online no later than <strong>9 July 2026<\/strong> through the link below:<\/p>\n<div class=\"oceanwp-oembed-wrap clr\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"V3RJmW8lgX\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/rtgafrica.com\/careers\/jobs\/agronomist-horticulturist\/\">AGRONOMIST\/HORTICULTURIST<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u201cAGRONOMIST\/HORTICULTURIST\u201d \u2014 Rainbow Tourism Group\" src=\"https:\/\/rtgafrica.com\/careers\/jobs\/agronomist-horticulturist\/embed\/#?secret=nyONMNaaON#?secret=V3RJmW8lgX\" data-secret=\"V3RJmW8lgX\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Introduction Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced personnel to fill the position of Agronomist\/Horticulturist for Rainbow Tourism Group.
