Introduction
\nApplications are invited from suitably qualified personnel to fill in the position of Butcherman. The successful candidate will be based at Montclair Resort and Conference.
\nThe position reports to the Head Chef.
\nPRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
\n\u2022 Cutting, trimming, boning, tying, and grinding meats using knives, saws, and mincers
\n\u2022 Weighing, packaging, and labeling products for sale or kitchen use
\n\u2022 Ensuring proper storage and handling of meat products to maintain freshness and safety
\n\u2022 Monitoring stock levels and assisting with meat orders and inventory control
\n\u2022 Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of all equipment, work areas, and cold storage
\n\u2022 Ensuring compliance with all food hygiene, health, and safety standards
\n\u2022 Assisting in the preparation of meat cuts for banquets, restaurant service, and staff meals
\n\u2022 Advising kitchen staff on appropriate meat cuts and cooking methods
\nPRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
\n\u2022 National Certificate in Butchery or equivalent qualification in Food Preparation
\n\u2022 Minimum of two years\u2019 experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel or commercial kitchen environment
\n\u2022 Sound knowledge of meat preparation, storage, and hygiene standards
\n\u2022 Ability to use butchery tools and equipment safely and effectively
\n\u2022 Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
\n\u2022 Physically fit and able to stand for long hours
\n\u2022 Honest and reliable with good communication skills
\n\u2022 Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision
